Description:
The third generation of the flagship base for VIRPIL Controls retains the time-tested functionality and introduces new control options for VIRPILs of all directions! High-precision mechanics with extensive customization options have acquired adjustable pitch and roll clutches, making it easier to pilot in specific modes and creating new possibilities for using the base in Dual-Stick configurations!

The mechanism is a metal structure: body (main) parts - duralumin D16t, hardware and axial elements - stainless steel, steel bearings of increased accuracy, which guarantees the absence of backlash and dead zones. The operating range of the axes is 32 degrees (16 (+/-1.5) degrees on each side of the center), which allows the use of 50-200mm/2-7.9" extensions.

The user has the ability to independently configure the loading of the VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Base mechanism in a wide range. In addition to the pre-installed at the factory, the scope of delivery includes 2 sets of springs of different stiffness and 4 sets of loader profiles (cams).

The stiffness and profile of the pitch and roll axes are selected individually. Profile selection is carried out by changing the cams. There are 2 options available to adjust the force to be applied to deflect the knob right-left or forward-backward. The first is the fine-tuning of the spring stiffness with the help of adjusting bolts, which can be accessed under the rubber caps on the top plate. In this case, it is not necessary to open the base of the mechanics, the adjustment is carried out "on the fly". If the spring stiffness is insufficient/excessive for the Virpil, it is necessary to replace the springs with stiffer/softer springs (respectively) from the supplied kit. To achieve the perfect result, you need to repeat the fine-tuning.

The pitch and roll axis clutches are also adjusted on the fly through two holes in the top cover. A wide range of drag tightening forces allows the VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Base to be configured from a fully relaxed state, where there is no additional resistance on the handle, to a lock in the deflected position. The latter is achieved by installing soft springs, centerless CosmoSim linear cams and is perfect for creating a cockpit based on the Dual-Stick (H.O.S.A.S.) layout.

VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Base is equipped with proprietary electronics — VPC Controller and VPC Contactless Digital Proximity Sensor. The software allows you to implement any settings necessary for high-quality piloting and combat use.

The control knob attachment unit (mechanical and electrical connectors) used in the MongoosT-50CM3 Base VPC is standard in the entire VPC line, which guarantees compatibility with all (previous and new) models of control knobs for VIRPIL Controls.  

To increase the accuracy of virtual aircraft control, it is recommended to install 50/75/100/200 mm (2"/3"/3.9"/7.9") VPC Flighstick Extensions (or/or their combinations, sold separately in the Accessories section) on the VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Base and mount the mechanics on the VPC Desk Mount brackets using the VPC Desk Mount Adapter - MT-50CM3 (sold separately in the Accessories section).

Note:
- VPC-based VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Base is not recommended to be used as a desktop joystick!
- For mounting behind the bottom cover (in in-house cockpits), use the VPC Universal Compact Base Plate.
- Consider the VPC WarBRD-D Base as a mechanic base for your desktop joystick.
